Questions you may wish to consider asking your prospective flight training school include:

  • What training do I need to do to become a pilot?
  • How much does it cost to complete my training?
  • How long will it take to complete my training?
  • Can I learn to fly on a part time basis?
  • What aircraft do you use in your training programs?
  • How are your aircraft maintained?
  • When can I start training with you?
  • Is there an entry test or an interview process?
  • How do I apply for one of your programs?
  • Do you offer trial flights?
  • What other requirements do I need to meet such as English levels?
  • How important is flight training to the organisation? For instance, is it the core business?
  • How long has the flight school been in business?
  • What about the school's instructional staff, its enrolment numbers, and credentials? Do they have a Chief Flying Instructor?
  • What are the school's classrooms like?
  • What services are available at the airport (instrument approaches and control towers)?
  • What is the school's reputation on flight regulations and safety policies?
  • What are the insurance requirements of the school, and how do its liability and collision policies work?
  • Does your school offer financing options for my training fees?
